I claim that any natural number can be completely and unambiguously identified in fourteen words or less. Here a "word" means an ordinary English word, such as you might find in a dictionary.

You know this can't be true. After all, there are only finitely many words in the English language, so there are only finitely many sentences that can be built using fourteen words or less.

So it can't possibly be true that every natural number can be unambiguously described by such a sentence. After all, there are infinitely many natural numbers, and only finitely many such sentences!

Yet, I can prove it so:

1. Suppose there is some natural number which cannot be unambiguously described in fourteen words or less.

2. Then there must be a smallest such number. Let's call it n.

3. But now n is "the smallest natural number that cannot be unambiguously described in fourteen words or less".

4. This is a complete and unambiguous description of n in fourteen words, contradicting the fact that n was supposed not to have such a description!

5. Since the assumption (step 1) of the existence of a natural number that cannot be unambiguously described in fourteen words or less led to a contradiction, it must be an incorrect assumption.

6. Therefore, all natural numbers can be unambiguously described in fourteen words or less!

Alas, I have made a mistake, is thy so smart as it find it?

so ... today. was summery. BBQ, swimming (*neener neer* lynn!), slurpees, and ... beer.

and lynn and i discovered the 7/11 has a slurpee nazi. we were getting our slurpees, and she came back and gave us an evil stare. i didn't see her, but but but lynn says so. damn slurpee nazis.

here is my latest thoughts regarding democracy:

Democracy is a mere image that allows citizens to perceive that they have a choice, when really it is the politicians that make the decisions. It's a matter of statistics that the particular group of politicians is a gaussian distribution of the 300 million Americans, thus it appears that the people get what they want.

i love this world. it takes all types. we have the saudi's who pre-tense on a strict islamic culture and law the ONLY place in the world where women cannot drive. frankly i don't blame them. there is something called peripheral vision. Which is nulled out when you were a rag wrapped around your face. And I have seen Saudi ladies drive, it's not driving. It's some form of getting in a car and being invincible, i.e. no sense of anything around them.

versus the ...

US (not 'us') ... the closest they come to having a culture is 3 month old yogurt left in the fridge.

then there is canuckistan. where we harvest every type of person in the world. terrorist or not!

just don't forget everybody's different and i haven't changed.
